WHY OUR DIET WORKS

We are treating the cause for obesity, not the symptoms, after treatment the patient will be free to eat a normal, healthy diet without regaining the lost fat. Our weight loss treatments are based on 50 years of research, originally conducted in Italy, on the fundamental problems of obesity, its causes, its symptoms, and its very nature. In addition to losing the fat, you will change the way your metabolism controls your weight, returning your body to that of a normal healthy person. Your weight loss will not only be instant but you will enjoy eating normally without regaining abnormal fat after treatment, even if you occasionally overeat. We are not promoting yet another weight loss “diet”, our method of treatment has grown out of conclusive evidence based on clinical trials. Thousands of cases have been carefully studied; we are continuing this ground breaking discovery into obesity and its cure. In obese persons the balance of weight gain and loss is out of order and can only be restored if the person undergoes the proper medical treatments to correct the underlying problems. The tendency to accumulate abnormal fat is a very definite metabolic disorder. The general public has been told that they are fat because they eat too much; this is wrong. The Duration of Treatment Seven Week Treatment Program: Women should expect to lose 12 to 14 kilograms of body fat during our Seven Week Treatment program, men slightly more, approximately 14 to 16 kilograms during the same Seven Week Program. (Children should expect the same results as adult women) Four Week Treatment Program: Women should expect to lose 6 kilograms of body fat during our Four Week Treatment Program, men slightly more, approximately 8 kilograms during the same Four Week Program. (Children should expect the same results as adult women) You will be treated by trained medical professionals. During your treatment you will receive daily personal hands on medical attention and professional counseling. In dealing with a disorder in which our patients must take an active part in the treatment, it is, we believe, essential that you have an understanding of what is being done and why. It is for this reason and others that we require an in-office examination and complete blood test examination before reaching the decision if you are a candidate for our treatments or not. BASIC CAUSES OF OBESITY: The Inherited Factor: The first is when the fat-storing capacity is abnormally low from birth. Such a congenitally low capacity would then represent the inherited factor in obesity. When this abnormal trait is markedly present, obesity will develop at an early age in spite of normal feeding; this could explain why among brothers and sisters eating the same food at the same table some become obese and others do not. Other Metabolic Disorders In the case of menopause the hormones previously produced in the sex-glands no longer circulate in the body. This situation causes an excessive strain on the metabolic center. In order to cope with this additional burden the center appears to draw more and more energy away from other centers, such as those concerned with emotional stability, the blood circulation(hot flashes) and other autonomous nervous regulations, particularly also from the not so vitally important fat-storing centers. This results in women experiencing weight gain throughout their menopausal years. Pregnancy Similar processes are involved in the case of a pregnant women, although more complicated then mentioned above… unfortunately in countries such as Vietnam it is believed, wrongly so, that a women should “Eat for Two” this tradition had its place during times of famine or times of severe poverty were food supplies were hard to come by, however in today’s world with food never further then your refrigerator it is causing undo amounts of weight to be put on. In a person eating normal amounts of food, the digestion is slow and only a little nourishment at a time is assimilated from the intestinal tract. When such a person suddenly starts to “Eat for Two” at every meal, a presumably normal fat-center is suddenly — the emphasis is on suddenly — called upon to deal with an enormous influx of food far in excess of momentary requirements. This is commonly seen in women whom can gain as much as 30 kilograms during pregnancy. Processed foods In a person eating coarse and unrefined food, the digestion is slow and only a little nourishment at a time is assimilated from the intestinal tract. When such a person is suddenly able to obtain highly refined foods such as sugar, white flour, fructose corn syrup etc. (Fast Foods / processed foods) these are so rapidly digested and assimilated that the rush of incoming fuel which occurs at every meal may eventually overpower the regulatory mechanisms and thus lead to obesity. This is commonly seen in the poor man who suddenly becomes rich enough to buy the more expensive refined fast foods, though his total caloric intake remains the same or is even less than before. The same is true for the children in Vietnam, many family’s are now “treating” their children to fast foods thus resulting in an obese child. IT is believed to be healthy to “fatten up” the child, this shows the general public, friends neighbors that the child is from a financially stronger family… in the past parents were able “fatten up” the child without any serious adverse long term effects. The foods used were based from Vietnamese menus, a much more natural food base, however today as we lean towards the heavily refined, heavy sucrose based food products the child is unable to rebound from the excessive weight gain, due to a now malfunctioning (slow) metabolism. Expatriates It is common among the expatriate circles to hear westerners complain of weight gain during their time here, it is often believed a hotter climate should help them sweat/shed off the weight, nothing could be further from the truth. When a person, grown up in a cold climate, is transferred to a tropical country such as Vietnam and continues to eat as before, he or she may develop obesity because in the heat far less fuel is required to maintain the normal body temperature. Overeating / Compulsive eating It is commonly believed that a person is fat due to overeating or compulsive eating and that person should stop “stuffing their face” this is a ludicrous notion born from ignorance and stupidity. It is rare that an obese person overeats, as a matter of clinical fact and observation many of our obese patients suffer from undernourishment due to a very low calorically deficient diet. Our Patients, often eating very little and thus placing the body in a starvation/preservation mode of sorts, causes the opposite of the desired effect, weight gain. On further analysis it soon becomes clear that the relation of cause and effect is not so simple. In the first place we are merely assuming that the capacity of the fat center is normal while it is possible and even probable that only persons who have some inherited trait in this direction can become obese merely by overeating. The cases above all result in “Abnormal storing of Fat” and this type of fat cannot be accessed by the bodies normal fat burning process, regardless of the exercise program followed, the caloric restriction one puts themselves on, or the pills or diet related drinks consumed… All are doomed for failure…
